PASSION IS RELENTLESS DETERMINATION TO ACHIEVE WHATEVER IS MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU...
Even at a young age I’ve believed that if you’re going to do anything in life, do it big and to the best of your ability. Regardless of where your path in life takes you, make it your aim to become world class. Set big goals because even if you don’t reach them, you’ll go much further than if you didn’t.
I grew up overseas on the small Caribbean island of St. Eustatius. Now when I say “small“, I mean 8 square miles and 3000 people small. At the time I worked for an oil company on the island as a network and systems administrator . While this was a great job for someone living on the island, I needed more. My desire to grow my career and potential caused me become a voracious reader of any books related Linux, Networking and Information Security. I would often read for 6 hours per day in an effort to increase my knowledge.
After 6 months of this, I had to go for it. I posted my resume on the now relatively defunct www.computerjobs.com website. Unbelievably 2 days later I received a phone call from a company in Atlanta, Georgia asking me if I could be on an airplane 2 days later to interview with them in person.
The rest as they say is history.
Outside of all things related to technology, my interests include martial arts, business, investing and anything that makes noise and goes fast.
The style of martial arts that I practice is called Tang Soo Do. It’s a Korean martial arts system that was formally developed in the 1940s. It was introduced in the United States in 1968 by Jae-chul Shin.
I’ve been training and competing for over 7 years and have learned a lot in the process. The dojang where I train and teach is Rock Solid Karate in Gainesville, GA. My hope is that I can be a small part of helping you improve your martial arts.
It’ll be fun getting to know you and being part of your journey.
Tang Soo!
